My previous Panasonic combi microwave was great and lasted 16 years. However, due to some unfavorable reports on new Panasonic models, I decided to try out Samsung. Sadly it failed after only 2 days. The convection oven ran for just 20 mins and then the whole machine just died. No time display, no interior light, and no buttons functioning whatsoever. After about 40 mins the machine sprang back to life. Phoned John Lewis Technical Dept who agreed that the unit was faulty, so I decided on a refund.
John Lewis staff were very helpful.
Not sure what manufacturer/model to go for next.

I bought this microwave a month ago, after couple of days it started getting noisier. Went to John Lewis back to return it with 28 days, the department person said i can not return it because it is a microwave (which was wrong). Also, he said we can't accept the microwave here to be fixed by technical team, i have to book the engineer out for having a look. When i went home and called technical support they said engineer have to collect it and fix it, which will take 28 days. When i told her(technical team) that i was told something else about return and repair, she said there is no restrictions that i can't return the microwave, she immediately arrange exchange for me. (was given 3 options: refund or exchange or repair). Very pleased with them but this instore experience from John Lewis limited me from instore purchases.

Could have bought this item elsewhere slightly cheaper but bought from John Lewis Direct for their customer service. Collected item from local store. Unpacked and installed only to find that the internal light flashed on and off and remained on when the door was closed at all times. Contacted customer services only to find they would not allow me to take the item back to the store but have to take a day off to be in for the courier to collect. Similarliy would not allow me collect the replacement unit from store but have to wait up to 5 days for courier delivery. Therefore cancelled order and will buy online from AO who deliver next day.

This oven is really useful. We had no cooker at all for 3 weeks and this machine was a godsend. And of course we are still using it.

Excellent product, works well.
Some of the controls can be initially confusing so need to consult operating manual.
Very bright blue display panel is easy to see.
One star deducted as very shiny finish shows all fingermarks.

very good to look at and it glossy exteriors had me saying yes instantly. However a bit meddlesome when it comes to microwaving. It was too new for anyone on the john lewis section to give me demonstration.
There are instructions but why make it so different from other microwaves! No recipe book which really is not a good idea. I still haven't had the time to work out how the various functions work. have put it away for another day. Frankly should just have bought another Panasonic
