Architect 1.5L Kettle, Brushed - 72905Customer Reviews
Slightly bigger looking than what I was expecting but it has a solid build quality and light to pick up. Boils quickly and looks impressive in the kitchen.

I really wanted to like this kettle as its design is stunning but a fine example of style over function.. I could, for that reason, have tolerated the heat and noise but it LEAKED!!! Duralit were very unhelpful as we live abroad they were neither interested nor sympathetic. NOT GOOD

Unlike others I don't find this kettle any noisier than others?! It looks great, does get super hot but it's a metal kettle what do you expect? You are protected by the plastic handle and so no chance of burning.
Great purchase! : )

The non-drip spout works like a dream, even when pouring fast.
It is a little noisy, but the extra decibels are just enough to drown out the Missus!
It's not the most powerful kettle on the market and the boiling times reflect this....but it just gives me more time to admire the stunning design. To be honest I've never felt it takes excessively long.
We also did some looking around before we bought after reading some comments about it being excessively hot, as it's metal. We couldn't find a twin walled metal kettle in JL. I guess that's just it though, metal is a better conductor than plastic!
The filter is excellent quality and very resilient, unlike most I've encountered before.
Anyhow we loved it so much we bought the toaster, which too is excellent, and very quick!

I purchased this kettle a few months ago & am delighted with both the performance & looks. I have other Dualit items, my favourite being the original toaster purchased from J L in 2001 (which is still going strong, a record as I have been through any toasters since 1970). One thing I particularly like about this kettle is the spout angle which means when it boils the steam does not go in an upward direction hitting the bottom of the wall cupboards.

A bitter disappointment have bought several Dualit kettles, all been fine, I agree with many others, the noise is horrific!!! Nice to look at but thats all. Not too sure if I like the new model which could have only reached the shelves in John Lewis the very next day I thought I'd purchased the newest model, oh well. Shame.

I will start with the negatives! The lid is made of metal and so gets boiling hot and there is a very small bit of plastic on the lid that you are supposed to press if you need to close the lid. If you don't push this small piece of plastic you will burn your fingers. You have been warned! I would agree with the other reviewers who mentioned it is a very loud kettle when boiling and it shakes on boiling.
On the plus side I do like the look of it as an object and its silver gleams. Spout pours well. It is a focal point in the kitchen and has a quality feel to it.
