When measuring for a cooker hood, we recommend matching the size of your new hood with the size of your hob – if they’re the same width, you’ll have a smoke- and odour-free kitchen. Also, check that the bottom of the hood will be at least 75cm from your hob.

Good cooker hood for a bigger hob

This is a really powerful cooker hood, although it’s very big so really need a bigger hob, 90cm plus to go with it. We had to get our builder to build some boxing for it as it wouldn’t go flush in the ceiling as the photos suggest so bear that in mind if buying. The light on it has different settings which is great if you don’t want a really strong light. We bought an AEG hob and I really like the hob to hood function. All in all really pleased with it but it is slightly more noisy than I was expecting or hoping for.

A great fan very well built. Poor installation instructions as usual with ‘Janet and john’ pictures and little help on the practical installation. The fixing brackets and adjustment on to the ceiling are a bit flimsy and the alignment was a challenge. It was a challenge but well worth the effort.
